Why do they say don’t ride at night if my rig has lights on it?

Really, I had trouble with this one too. As a cat I can see in the dark, but you humans can’t, and it gets really funny watching you stumble around with your hands out in front of you. Add 100 hp and a ton of steel to that scenario, and you have a recipe for disaster.

These machines are equipped with lights, and they are for finding your way around in the dark, but when you can’t see very far in front of you, it makes it too easy to run into a hazard, particularly if your machine can over drive your headlights. There is an easy fix for this:  MORE LIGHTS!!!!  If you really see yourself riding at night a lot, adding light bars and spotlights is a great way to banish the darkness. There is a lot of wonderful nature to experience at night and it would be a shame to miss out on all of that, so light up the trail, and bring a friend to help pull you out of a sticky situation. Riding at night brings a lot of extra risk but is manageable with the proper precautions. Make sure you can see ahead of you, make sure others can see you, and be respectful of others’ property. It’s no fun to wake up in the middle of the night to the sounds of engines revving and blinding lights coming through your windows. Stay safe, ride smart, and keep it SWANKY!
