What is up with the CATs!?

I often hear my human on the phone answering questions, and he often gets asked “What’s with all the cats?” As a cat, I will try really hard not to be offended and answer that question honestly, and without stopping to push his coffee mug off of the side of the desk. ( it drives him bonkers when I do that :) .

The humans in my care refer to me as a mascot, which I take to mean as a type of spiritual leader and life coach. It’s a great arrangement for a cat with a caring heart and a good head on his shoulders. All I have to do is meow a few words of encouragement or purr out some marketing advice, and they bring me tasty snacks and scratch my ears as thanks for sharing my awe inspiring wisdom with them. But how did I land such a sweet gig? Well, dear readers, it was completely by chance.

I was out one night patrolling my territory and trying to get away from my 18 kittens (don’t get excited, they’re from 2 different litters) when I heard a strange noise. The sun had just set, and there were 3 humans standing around looking at this strange machine. It was almost like a truck, but it didn’t growl at me when I approached it, so I jumped on the hood and said hi. 2 of the humans were talking back and forth about needing a logo, but the third came over to me, (clearly in awe over my fluffy orange fur) and started stroking my back in reverent admiration. She declared that the search was over, and I will be the “mascot”. Clearly this human was of above average intelligence because the other 2 fell in line and agreed that I, Mr. Whiskers am the perfect mascot, and one of them even said that people all over the world spend a lot of time searching for me on a thing called the “internet”. How could I refuse? After a short wait of 6-8 weeks, my kittens were grown, and my ladies were off to their adopted homes, and I returned to the group of humans, who were overjoyed with my presence. They took me in, and said I make their home all the swankier! And that’s what’s with all of the cats.
